Fables

In the book Fables there are different fairy tale characters that play different parts in the characters lives to adjust the modern time. The big idea of the story this is fairy tale characters who adjust to our modern day life. For example the  fairy tale called Snow White and the seven Dwarfs. Snow white lives in a hut with seven little man and she is now  the mayor of the fairy tale city. She is dealing with many complains of how they are not happy and she has to be running everything. White is having issues with her ex- boyfriend and now she is dealing with the death or possibly kidnapping of her sister. This show that it is pretty tough to go from being a fairy tale character to start living in a modern world because in the fairy tales Snow White just sits in a tree with seven little dwarfs doing nothing but just telling them to stop being mad, sad, silly, clumsy  & etc.
Another story fable character is wolf who also is trying to adjust to living in our modern war. Fables the character Wolf was kicked out of his fairy tale world along with the other characters. Wolf was hurt and mad because of what happened so he decide to become a detective. After becoming a detective, his anger lead him to become a mean person and start arresting other fairy tales characters without a reason. He has Snow White following him around everywhere. Snow is bossing wolf around and not letting him do his job. He has to dealing with it shows how he is adjusting to the real world, wolf is very inpatient and he would have ate Snow White because of her bossiness.
Another story in Fables that shows the character adjusting to the modern world is The Beauty and the Beast. In our modern war the beast is cursed and cannot talk properly. In this story the Beast is having issues with his wife and he wants to divorce her, but  cannot because he doesn't talk properly. Therefore Snow White can not under stand him which makes the divorce hard to happen. This shows that it is hard for the fairy tale character to live in a modern life because he can not speak properly and he cannot get divorced from his wife which makes his life miserable more then it already is because of his curse.

sex and the hood

The children's version of little red riding hood, in my opinion is telling kids how to be careful with the people out there. There are pedophiles out there who would rape little girls. The kids story of little red riding hood is a little girl, who don’t know much about the world. Just like a little girl who mom says come home straight from school. Also in the book she sees a stranger starts to talk to him, just like in real life. Then the wolf starts to think how he is going to get his little girl. So he plans his attack.

The movie is about sex because of, the blood moon. From a girl once she becomes a woman she gets her period. The red lipstick symbolizes sexiness; the forest is a lonely place with gorges settings, the guys in there. The red hood covering her body she doesn’t show her body which makes someone want a girl more. The fire is symbolizing the heat of the moment when you having sex and how you get heated up.

The comic book is a little blunter with the meaning of sex. She a women out in a forest full of dangers animals, just like in the world a big place full of Horney guys. The wolf, distracts little red cap so easily, just like in the real life a man can distract a women very easily. Then the wolf talks to her to see where she is going and what she is going to do. Then he goes to the grandmother and kills her, or in real life knocked her out and hides her so she can get it in with little red cap. When she does get there she notices that something is wrong. So then he calls for help and some guy comes and cuts the wolf up, or in real life take the wolf to jail. Then the second wolf just like the real world there are other, but little red cap learn and ran to her grandma’s house. Then they used a distraction the meat, which could mean they used a fear tactic maybe call the cops.

runaways

One of the important points is, when the found there parents where in a group called the pride. This is an important point because we know that there is a secret group that there in. Another important point is when they kill the girl. This is another point because we kind of find out what their little group does. Another one is when the all the kids meet up. I found this point important because all the kids meet up. So the started there own little group.

red cape man

Pa Kent is worried about Clark for a few reasons. Well for one he came from a rocket ship so that was kind of edgy. Also on top of that Pa said that he's noticing that Clack has powers without limitations. So since he came out of a spaceship and on top of that he has powers, they know he's not human. They are worried for that because they don’t know if he's good or bad because he's not human.

super powers

If I could chose a super power it would be not to age as fast as other. I would love this power because, I want to see what happens in this world. Also how things change and what happens in the future. The negative about it this is that you will lose alot of friends and family and youll still be young. Another thing is that well people are geting older your still going to look young. Also people wont bealve your age.

assesment 2

These two comics were really good, “the witch” and “wolverine” I think they where a good read. The artist of these two comics obviously have a lot of talent they really caught my attention. His since of art is really nice. They are similar and different in a few ways, the way the panels are set up, the way that shadow, color and the setting of the story, I think where all greatly used.

Well let’s start with the panels, in wolverine the panels are more cramped together, I think it’s so you can see more of the action as it’s going on. The artist gives further detail by zooming in and showing more of the action close up and in large portions. Also they stack up the panels are on top of another. As you can see in the first comic pg. 20, there shows some action scene. How everything is kind of stuck together. I think that he uses this so you won’t miss any of the action, so you don’t have to look away for a second.  As for the witch the panels are pretty basic as pretty normal keeping you on track. They just go little by little, keeping you on track. It’s kind of different but they keep on making you want to read.

Now let’s talk about the color, what do you guys think? I think that the color went according to the story. In “The Witch” the color are more dark and colorful at the same time. I think that this goes good with the story because witches are masters of the dark arts. Then magic is a playful fun thing, when they do some type of magic it’s colorful and nice. I think that those colors where nice and beautiful. From the bottom of 15 to 17 there that blue is so nice well that’s what I think. In “The Wolverine” the colors are kind of dull and the colors don’t really pop up as much. I think that it goes with the character. Wolverine is a man that keeps to him. In the ending of wolverine you can see that the artist using shadow. Mostly because wolverine is a man who do his business and nothing extra. The shadow is something that’s shady. I don’t really like the way the color looks.

Shadow is a great way to show some type of suspense or loneliness. In the “wolverine” I think that the artist chose shadow and it is really good. Wolverine is a stalker by nature, so he uses the shadow to his advantage. It must be scary to see this big shadow with points like things showing. Your just waiting to get attacked, so its kind of scary. He’s just stalking his prey waiting for the right moment. In the “Witch” shadow is a really good thing. Seeing that witches are dark arts and people hunt them. So they stay to themselves and keep away from everyone. So I think that shadowing was a great thing for these two comments.

Overall I think that this two comics where really good. They both did there coloring good there shadowing was on point and the way the panels where they did a good job. With all this everything was a good job and a better read.

wolverine

Ah one of my favorite marvel character. He is a mutant, that resembles a wolf. As you can see almost by the hair, and the way he was saying he fallowed the sent. His main weapons are claws and he has enhanced scenes. he is a killer with emotions. He didn't kill the guy at the bar because he knew that killing a human would be wrong. As apposed to the bear, he can't tell the bear that what he is doing is wrong. The bear don't know, but the human does, all that wolverine can do is warn him and make sure that he is sorry for what he has done

the witch moments :D

in my point of view the two most shocking moments would be when we found out that she was a witch. i thought she had a mental illness to be honest and then to find out she was a witch. it was pretty cool. to know that she was sane it was pretty wired. then the second one would be when her famillier came out that was pretty cool. All the detail in him was pretty crazy.

there both similar because they both have to do with being a witch. they both kinda explain what is the reson to why she is not insane. so that's why i think there slimier. They are different because one is just saying what she is and there other is showing what ryle is.

comapring and contrasting

What's a bogey man to you? To me it’s a monster who us to find under my bed. Well that's not the case in "30 Days of Night" or "The Halloween Dance." There's really open up my imagination to see the real bogey man. It is not a little monster under your bed. But instead something that feeds of your fear, lives in the darkness, and makes you a banded all type of hope.

One thing that both comics got in common is that they both have a type of "bogeyman", even though there different point of views as to what the bogeyman is. You can see in "30 Days of Night" the bogeyman is a cold bloodied immortal group of killers that eat people in secret. Also moves from town to town planning their moves. As for "The Halloween Dance" there bogeyman is a huge guy with a mask that just kills. Basically if we want you dead, then you’re dead. There isn’t really nothing special about him. Just like a bogeyman no one what he is or who he is.

One thing that is different about the comics is the situation that they both in. 30 Days Of Night they are out in a isolated frozen tundra being chased by a group of vampires. They are there to eat people and keep it moving from town to town, from the looks of it they have been in hiding for a while. As the vampire said that so many years of hiding. As for the Halloween dance there in a small town being chased by one guy. He has is eyes set on one girl and one girl only, and he kills anyone who is in his way.

Imaginary friends ;D

What’s an imaginary friend? From what I could remember I’ve never had one. I have seen a few people who did have them; they talk to themselves in public and its pretty creepy.  An imaginary friend is a figment of your imagination who you feel like is always going to be there for you. I’ve read that kids with imaginary friends are usually only children or kids who are scared of the real world.
Imaginary friends aren’t real there just make believe people, creatures (etc.) from peoples imagination to make them feel them better. They feel like they need someone there for them, so they use your imagination. They feel like the need someone to be by there side. Sometimes they feel protected.
The parents or others can’t see the imaginary friend because she not real. She might be real to the person who is imagining it. She feels like she a real person, who talks to her and helps her when she needs it. Most of the time they will go crazy because no one believes em, I’ve also heard that sometimes there ghost trying to talk to a kid. So they feel like he’s real, but only the kid could see the

JAWS ! :O OMG

This scene in jaws is a scary scene for multiple rezones. Well to start off your in the middle of the ocean, your “boyfriend” is drunk off his mind, we can tell that she kind of deep because of buoy so she pretty deep. Being in the middle of the ocean you can’t move as much as you would on land so knowing that you can’t defend yourself as much as you would on land. So just imagine how hopeless and scary that would be. Your boyfriend can’t call for help he’s drunk and passed out. So the hope for help only depends on the air in your lungs witch you using to try to stay afloat and fight off a shark. Another reason is why and knowing that you’re on a beach a place to go and have fun and you get attacked by a shark is pretty scary. When she starts screaming is like so scary so its like :o omg. Another is a music is so suspensful. Then knowing that you going to be in the dark quiet ocean knowing that noone is going to find you

scariest momment

This comic is really scary once you start to think about it. You’re out in frozen tundra miles away from any close town. In the middle of nowhere with no sun for 30 days. No communication and no hope to run free from the monsters that have come into their little town. There resources are very limited, they got mouths to feed and they don’t know anything about the monsters that have come.

There was a scene where the monster is locked up and he bends the bars. Here we see that they are really strong and powerful. This is scary because if you put me up against a MMA fighter then I know I’m going to lose. This monster is powerful so knowing that you fighting someone who is way stronger then you, knowing that you could lose, but knowing that if you don’t defend yourself you end up dead. So basically either way you can die. So I thought that was scary.

Another scene is where they are coming into the town. The guy closes in with his binoculars and starts to see that there are more of them coming. They seen how powerful they are and what they’re here for. They don’t know anything about them and the only thing they can assume is that a head shot will kill them. They lost all communication so they can ask for help and if they run out they will die. Also knowing that they all are powerful and hard to kill in the middle of nowhere in the dark with limited recourses is pretty scary is me.

Then in another scene there is this part where there in this room and there looking out a window. The way the angle of that scene is looks so isolated and lonely. She also got a tear running down her eye. showing that she is sad. When I read that scene I felt lonely myself. Then he went out to get some supplies and run back and he says that he tried a bunch of different ways to kill them. So basically they still don’t know how to kill them. So that why I think it’s a scary scene.

The boggey man is a thing that loves hanging out in the dark. Also is the thing that scared you the most. It can hind under the bed or closet. The Preditor Of Jenifer :)

Don't you think she is? I mean a prederor charateristic is to hunt, kill, eat in order to survive. It can also be some one who steals and destroys in order to gain. Or maby it can be an aggrecive or determaid person. I think that all this adds to Jenifers personality. Ima explain why

As you read thru the story in the very begining of it she hunts for her prey. She makes some one get her so she can start to stalk the. When she starts to stalk eveything about him and starts to better understand a few things about him she kills the cat. She eats something, so there is one thing for food. Then she trys to eat the wife by taking a bite of her but she screams and then the wife and kids leave. So now she just got the guy alone. The guy calls the circus so they can take Jenifer away. They where all alone in the house and boom. Another person is dead, so thats more food in her tummy. Now she is all alone with John, so better gain something else she rapes him. Then when the she is alone she gets a child and eats him/her. Then in the end when John is about to kill her she uses this to her advantage and makes herself look like a hopeless women and bloom John is dead and its time to hunt and kill more people.

So thats why i think she is a preditor, she hunts and kills in order to survive she steals and destroys peoples lives. She is also an agresive and determaide person to do what she does. All this for her better gain

isolation worst type of feeling if you ask me :)

What does isolation mean to you? Well to me it means being alone. The smart way to say it, is "to set apart from others." This comic says isolation as you read thru it, as you read thru the pages for example look at this slot. bottom of pg 12 you see a picture of Jenifer raping the guy you can say. You can see the way that the camera angle is pointed basically from the fact that thru out the story all of the pictures are close and that's the only one that's so far away. Also the room looks so lonely and dark. Then the way the light is pointing how it seems so lonely. Also the room is empty and don't look like a normal type of room, nice and full.

As you keep reading there's this slot on pg. 12 on the top left of the corner. They show his wife and kids leaving. Showing he people are going away from him. How he is becoming more and more isolated. Showing how he is pain. How its raining showing pain and sadness. How he is looking out the window showing that he dont wana lose em.

nasty old jenifer

Well this comic book is a wired ass thing. Jenifer is a woman and aperently she calls out guys and he does this over and over. In the begining and in the end the same outcome came out. The guy who has Jenifer ends up dieing and then its on to the next one. In my eyes this comic is saying to be careful with women and also not to keep strangers.

Jenifer's Smell

Jenifer, what is she? To be honest who knows. She might be a monster a mutant or hey maby even a alien species what ever she is, who knows what she smells like. For a few reasons i don't think that she smells really bad. Mainly because as you see thru the story how she gets near a few people and none of them say yuck or make a face showing that she smells. When he brings her home to the wife and kids, none of em make a face like yo this girl stank. They all just make a face like oh my god she is one ugly chick. Even after she eats people. She probably just has her unique smell or something.

Assessment One

The crow, what a great graphic novel. One of the best one's I have read. Also one of the great definition of the word despair. Don't you think ? I do in my opinion. This book is sad, how Eric lost his wife and how he shows how much he really and truly loved her.

He shows this from his memories witch is pretty much all he has of Shelly. Also from how he cry's for her, kills for her. looked for that ring. Also he seeks revenge. There is nothing good coming about of that. Eric tho feels like he has to bring justice and make all the people involved feel the same pain he felt. He do know that this will not bring him what he truly desires but he feels as if he need to. He also keeps his house a mess, he cuts himself, he puts make up almost as if he is forced to smile because of it. His eye liner as if he been crying and it was spelling but its not. How he talks to people as if he just a cold nothing.

In the images before and after those flash backs of him and Shelly I've noticed that before he remebers, he has this face where you look and it shows sad and worriedness. Then after the memorie he starts to get mad and start to cry and he cant do nothing to get her back.

Eric has nothing to live for and he knows it. Despair is an amazing word for this graphic novel. Lost all hope and life witch pretty much describes Eric and his whole point in the book.

despair

Despair is a good word for the crow. He lost his wife, his life, his love and hope. Pretty much all his life and everything he had to live for. This is why despair is a good word for this graphic novel. He seeks revenge but deep down inside he knows that he can not get what he really wants back. Witch is his wife Shelly. He feels like he can never recover that what he has lost and because of that he has given up not only on himself but to others around him. Thru out the comic the story can reflect off the word despair for multiple resons. In the story the scene show a lot of this. How he just looks into space thinking about his wife Shelly and how he will never get her back. Or when he is crying also how his house is a complete mess and how his facial experiences bassically look so depressed and sad. That's why i think this word is really good for the crow.

mask

i think that the writer mad a really good choice with these masks. In my opinion they show a lot about Eric and this book. He pretty much shows how he looks all happy and jolly and excited and almost as if he don't have a care in the word and as if he has no problems in his life. He is dancing and laughing basically showing that he is happy. As for the other face. As you read you start to notice that he is really a sad hurt person and nothing can change that. He lost his wife Shelly witch is pretty much his reason of living. He seeks revenge witch more spilled blood just leads to more sadness. He starts to talk sad almost as if nothing is this word ever mattered to him anymore. This is why i think the writer mad a good choice

comic books

well i cant really tell much about this class. but ummm it seems pretty interesting with the computors and stuff and i really never read any type of comic books so ill see how this goes

watch men i like it because of the art work and all that and i tthink its pretty cool
